Cashless secure payments, great app

This is one of the best apps Ive seen come out of the Middle East. Fast, reliable, friendly, takes advantage of platform features like Touch ID and Bluetooth LE. Looking forward to an Apple Watch app when watchOS 2.0 comes out in September!

Top notch

Great payment service specially when you have the location service on. unfortunately not many stores support the service in UAE and location service consumes your iPhone battery. other than that its a 5 stars app.

I want to like this app...

... but Ive used it twice now and still cant get it to work. The first time I couldnt figure out the mechanics of initiating the POS process. The second time, it simply didnt connect at the terminal. I was able to write this review, so Im not a complete technoramus.

Good App

Great app but less stars because its not widespread in locations it can be used and because the app is not intuitive

Rubbish support

Poor and pathetic support, they have a programming logic if you create an account with your mobile number and you want to link your mail to it they will tell you not possible because your mail is not linked to any account, oh really !!! And when you want to correct this by your own and register using your mail and try to link your mobile to it they will tell you not possible because the mobile number exists in their database, and they will contact you whenever there is a possibility to do so, stupid programmers and stupid logic and stupid support.

Brilliant but still needs work

I have been a dedicated Beam fan from its introduction to UAE, where I started using it with CircleK and Tim Hortons a couple years ago. The UI has improved greatly since then, it truly is a well built app, and not to mention the introduction of the hardware at stores is amazing along with Carrefour (MAF) as a partner. Good job guys. My two biggest complaints is: 1) it doesnt always work, 2 out of 5 times it fails and takes too long and I default to cash or my credit card, defeating the purpose of beam. I once sat with the cashier for about 15 minutes trying to get Beam to work. The problem they faced was that they needed to reset the wifi on their iPod. So the the main issue is the vendor app and/or the network/wifi for both sides. You guys should find some way to make the vendor side very stable 2) No easy way to see where my credit is. Currently the only way I can see my credit is by scrolling through the entire list of stores and seeing which ones show my credit. Yes this is still quite good, but I sometimes want to go to stores where i have credit for. Please add a “Credits” page or something.

App Crashing

I tried to open the app, it shows me the splash screen and then it disappears, and not going further A Beam CR girl, at Carrefour, also looked at the application but no use. Poor girl was also embarrassed :) iPhone 6 iOs 9.0.2

App fine, POS bad

The app is good enough. The occasional hiccup, but mostly is well designed and headed in the right direction. What is terrible is the point of sale experience. Rarely are the cashiers trained in how to use Beam. Especially at Carrefour, I dont even bother to try anymore. Most of the time, I find myself having to train the cashier on how to charge me using beam.

Great not carrying my wallet

it works all but one time, so far is very helpful not to carry my wallet everywhere.

Crashing on 6s

I used to love the app a lot and after the November update i am not able to use it anymore since its always crashing. I opened a ticket a week back and didnt even get a response! Bad support and bad last release

Bad support! Scam offers!

Facing trouble using beam; terminals are not working; cashiers are frustrated and scared to offer service because customers are not happy with support ( Dubai). I received an offer of reward if I spent AED 500 , spent twice and got nothing, they charged full amount! Retailer got frustrated, started looking for contact number and found only 1 cell number of the person who installed terminals which is also doesnt answer! To my request I got reply from support that offer was valid till 3rd dec ( done purchases in the same day of the offer and 5th doc) even though no deadline was mentioned in the email with offer ( forwarded email, didnt get reply). In the previous email they start pushing for another offer - lottery - ignoring my actual request. As a company dealing with credit cards it must have local or Intl representation via actual phone numbers! Retailers do not refund payments made thru Beam in contrary to direct credit card payments where they can reverse charge and do exchange. In case of trouble with beam they ask to deal with Beam directly which is, as we already know, has the worst customer service and support. Absolute Disappointment!
